Apols if mansplaining … ;-) but on my (admittedly more recent) iPhone, if you put it on silent mode it won’t make the annoying shutter sound!

Oh yes, it’s silent on iPhone but on my proper camera you can’t turn off the mechanical sounds unfortunately!

There’s just something about trees isn’t there? That’s why the vandalism of the tree in Northumberland reverberated throughout the world, I think.

Do you have the Merlin app for identifying birds from their birdsong? It’s wonderful!

1) I just enjoy the heck out of your writing and am always so happy to hear what you are up to.

2) I completely understand the sentiment , I have had birds build nests at 2/3 doorways in my house, and we alternate scaring the bejesus out of each other and I feel so guilty every single time!

3) I can’t stop with trees either ; I have future visions of a meadow with flowering redbuds and hawthorns and am currently looking at an overgrown grass lawn with sticks planted in it. Hope springs eternal.

Thanks so much for your writing!!

Hopefully the more they see you the more they’ll get used to you? Agree re dogs though, Pepper is a nuisance looking at birds - if I point one out to Alba she runs and barks at it 😑

Don’t feel like an intruder, birds become used to the people they see regularly. You are no more an intruder than any other being in your garden, and your intentions are not predatory, are they. Just enjoy, and spend time doing nothing but being in the present , in the garden. And to be honest, that isn’t as easy as it sounds.
