I can confirm that Eschscholzia don't like being moved, because they have extremely long tap roots, like the good little carrot-like moisture-seeking survivors that they are. While they may not like being moved, they move themselves around wonderfully. I sowed a wildflower mix to cover ground in a border while I got round to planning its permanent planting, and I've spent the past 2 years digging out the self-seeded Eschscholzia.
I adore Zinnias. Did my first sowing 2 years ago (everything seemed to happen 2 years ago), pricked them out in small pots and transplanted them. They were amazing, if I say so myself. Did the same last year and they weren't amazing. I've since read that they don't like root disturbance, so I'm going to try direct sowing once the soil warms up a bit. Still very chilly here in north east Scotland.
It’s all happening pal!! Also, totally overwhelmed by your plant knowledge- I don’t know what half these things are. Also also, the plant app is fab, thank you. Oh and also x 3 love the use of the word lasciviously. Top drawer xxx
Corrrr, I have been very much looking forward to seeing those Tulips!
Worth the wait👌
💃🏻so exciting! 🌷
Best phrase of the year so far: "the line between panic and excitement is as fine as cheap loo roll, and twice as chafing." Yes!
Nearly there - in every sense!
And inspiring!! I am now thinking I haven’t planted enough!! Xxx
Tulips do furnish a garden.

Glad it’s all working out. Sometimes, when you stop looking, stop checking, the magic happens.
