You may not always be cold but you may be very wet or at least continuously damp!

Hahaha, oh dear that sounds even worse! I don’t know how to guard against being always damp!

When given a choice between "no ha-ha" and "ha-ha", always opt for the latter. That's my take, anyway.

I couldn't agree more, whether for gardens or for life. What is a life with no ha-ha?

All very exciting! I can confirm that food does exist outside London, tho not sure about Deliveroo. Still, if you put the whole garden into potatoes for the first year to clear the soil you'll be sorted (only half joking!).

Yes you should do it! But once you experience country life, you might never move back to the city! 😉

Some parts of Gloucestershire are really nice and not too stuck up and Range Rover-ish. Don’t be afraid of clay. It is the type of soil with the most nutrients in it. Just add compost. Tons of compost. A terracotta tiled floor is a complete dream. Dog wee? Never mind. Just mop it. It won’t stain or come up at the edges. I hope I have allayed some of your fears. Of course, I live in Bristol now….

I just did an idle Google search about gardening in Gloucestershire and found this little fact and website: “There are 131 gardening clubs and societies in the Gloucestershire Federation of Gardening Societies” (https://www.gfgs.org.uk/). So you’ll be in good company if you move there.

It's looking promising. But given that apparently rather blank slate, best not to read my account of making a garden.
