Can it really only be 23 degrees?

Here I was thinking that this would be one of those rare days in Summer 2026 where I could be outside and gardening. But despite feeling that my skin has become hardy to the harsh rays of the sun, and despite being in what would be comfortable, hot-weather-gardening clothes (cheap, linen-mix, drawstring shorts from George at Asda, cheap sports bra from Primark, cap and sunglasses - not an outfit I would want an acquaintance to see me wearing but one that is nonetheless both practical and comfortable) I feels boiling outside. Broiling, as an American might say. But in either case - uncomfortably hot.

But the weather apps tell me it is a mere 23 degrees. How can that be so?

I am so disappointed. After all I made an important decision this morning.
