Happy birthday!! Terrible to have it in August, although being a February gal I was always jealous of people who could celebrate their birthday in a park. I have a big thing for tablecloths and would like to spend serious money on them but I know it's not wise considering the many ketchup incidents of the past. My favourite is one my aunt bought me (who has fabulous taste in tablecloths) in the MoMA when we were there together when I was 18 but sadly it's too small for my current table. I think I need a smaller table?
From one summer birthday girl to another. For what it’s worth, June 19th has always been a terrible birthday too. - school is out here, and everyone is busy AND it’s Father’s Day weekend in the US, so anyone who didn’t leave town is busy with family (including me celebrating my dad). Happily, life throws fun curveballs sometimes and Pres. Biden declared it a national holiday a couple of years ago! (Not for my sake, obviously) now we celebrate Juneteenth on that day and I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday than remembering that ending slavery in the US was a beautiful advancement for humankind.
All of which is to say, future August birthdays may hold surprises yet! Enjoy your new shoes, a walk at Wisley, and looking ahead to your fall garden.
I hadn’t heard of the Wisley dog days - genius! And I’m with you about Ted Lasso. I watched it all last winter, after a friend repeatedly told me how good it was. It took some persuading, as I generally don’t watch a huge amount of TV, and the subject didn’t pull me in. But it’s joyous! Such an array of brilliant characters, such a brilliant mixture of humour and emotion. Happiest of birthdays to you!
Happy birthday!! I subscribed when I saw this a few days ago, thanks for the offer! I’m a new but keen gardener! Or rather, I’ve always been a keen but low key gardener and I’ve been seized by a new fervour recently!

Definitely! Who says the cloth has to fit the table? Why shouldn’t the table fit the cloth??
Happiest of birthdays! 🎉

And happy birthday!
Aw I love this! A birthday national holiday! A girl can dream!
:)
Happy Birthday, Lucy! All the very best to you!
Thank you so much, Abigail!
I think I might have accidentally bought more dahlias. We might not be eating this month.

Oh Ella, THANK YOU. I promise to do my best to fill your garden with flowers!

👋 Hi! 😘
Happy birthday. I have religiously bagged my fruit this year. The squirrels have eaten it through the bags. No fruit again. Sigh.
I really enjoyed this. And I bought the shorts hehe x
You have the same birthday as my brother - if that helps with the August loneliness!
